While not in my usual swamp it’s still a local on an old ramp.

I can see it’s a different spot because this guy is so clean. No weeds and muck all over him.
Based on the clear coloring, and size, it’s probably close to 4 years old. In another year all those pretty patterns will be gone.
I have not shot any ‘gator ramp’ in a while, so felt I needed one now.
Cool shot, Ted. The jaws of the gator seem so small. Are those Common Gallinules in the background?

Thanks 🙂 , he was a young one. And yes! You caught the Gallinules. They are everywhere, loud and running away on top of the water.
