There are 3 plantations along this stretch of road, 2 being the oldest gardens in the US. An impressive area.

Nothing to do with your lovely photos but… we drove through the town of Gore couple of days ago and I laughed when I saw a round-about (traffic circle) with a swamp cypress in the middle surrounded by a carpet of pansies, and I said to Nigel “wouldn’t Ted Jennings laugh at that?” Looked so absurd compared to your photos of them out in the wild!
I do laugh because we have a few of those too LOL.

In spring both planted and wild flowers bloom around the area. For a few days each spring people from all around the US visit these plantations just for the gardens.
