Odd Landing

Odd Landing, Egret

I didn’t notice the bird until he had almost reached the Cypress. Most flights had been coming from the opposite direction.

Also, there wasn’t any obvious open branches or good landing spots where he was heading.

It became clear in a minute.

The Egret didn’t fly in from outside the swamp, he was already here and just dropped out of the tree to have a safe rest.

The nest was on the other side of these branches… with screaming chicks. Someone needed some ‘alone time’.
