The shore bird everyone wants to see, and I’m included here, is the Pelican. Big, agile, and prehistoric.
Living here we get to see a lot of them.
But the other day, we had hundreds.
The plan was to see about a few sunset photographs. But the ongoing flocks passing by stole the show.
Brown Pelicans move in small flocks and usually stay right on the shore line. Groups of 10 to 30 dotted the horizon, all flying in a line.
It was impressive.
Wow, Ted. That reminds me of a military fly-over. I am always amazed when I see photos of pelicans flying–they seem huge in size.
You would love the Wood Stork. Like a flock of Howard Hughes ‘spruce goose’ going by. And you can hear their wings pushing air. When they land they can look you in the eye.
