Spotted by a flash of yellow across a back trail.
These warblers breed in wooded swamps, their preference being a nest in a hollow cypress knee.
This male was the exact opposite of everything I know about them. He went about his business after giving me a quick once over.
What a beautiful bird!
They are too bright to be true 😂. Come up from West Indies and Central America. A few travel up to the northeast, I had never seen one until coming down here. They love the swamps.
I have never seen this stunning bird before. What a beauty! You photographed it in a wonderful way!
Thanks. We only see them for a few months this time of year. Then it’s back to Central America, West Indies.
What? 🙂 You always find something new I have not seen before. He almost doesn’t look real it is such a bright color.
Exactly ! One of the few birds that when ‘zipping’ by you can ID right away.
