Most young ones now are almost adults. They can fly, but return to the nest looking for food. Learning to hunt takes time and I’m sure even here they go hungry in the beginning.
Some wading birds are grown and gone in a month. We are lucky here since we have so many different types and sizes our breeding season is about 6 months.
Alright, this photo is much better than the spider one. The hairs on my arm have gone back down. 🙂
