Shooting on a dull, drab, day in a low tidal marsh does not provide bright and colorful photographs.
It does show real life though.

This Night Heron was fishing along the edge here (jumping fish caught in the shots) but I didn’t spot it until it flew.

The bird was not going far, never did lift his legs.

ACE Basin salt marsh.
Excellent shots!
A few of those ‘why not’ shots. They either are OK, or nothing LOL. Thanks.
Nice!!
😀, thanks. I have seen more than usual in the far marshes this year.
A couple of years ago there was a group of them at St Marks but I never got any good pics of them. Then the next year they weren’t there.
Small Herons, unlike the larger ones, seem less inclined to stay in the same location. They will, but move off faster than the others.
BTW, there are always exceptions. One of the busiest tourist parks in Charleston has a Yellow-crowned rookery overhead. Been there for years in a very busy spot.
Wow! Good to know! I haven’t been to Charleston in a while. Good to know!
Thanks! Good to know!
