He did not want to give up his spot overlooking the water spilling into the marsh.
Ellen was ahead of me here and this Black-crowned kept glancing back and forth between us.
When water flows from the open salt marsh through this trunk/water gate fish are pushed along too. If there are no Alligators sitting on the other side it’s a quick drop to grabbed a meal.
Eventually he dropped down, but in the other direction so all I caught was the standard ‘bird butt’ shot.
No complaints, these guys are shy and it’s not often I get this many opportunities.
What an interesting place this Heron chose. And he even let you to take his photos. Excellent moments!
