I think a number of things all must be right, like the stars aligning, for these shots to turn out they way I want. And I try whenever the chance comes along.
The reeds and grasses are thick this time of year, hot and humid does them well.
This is a big marsh, the grassland might be miles.
Great Egret hunt along the edge all the time. There are fish in the thickets edge, frogs and lizards on the reed stalks.
Bright sun makes the background harsh with glare. I grab images when the Egret are walking here, but not many are keepers.
I think the dull, or softer light, helps tone down everything.
Whatever it is I like how it works, with a few Egrets though.
I see Great egrets only on your photos. I know we have a few of them in the bird refuge but they are hiding somewhere. These are wonderful moments and great photos!
