Now that fall has made grass and brush less dense we can see into the undergrowth. Some times it might be better to have details hidden away.
I have started paying more attention and have found several scenes like this being played out.

Alligators are everywhere in these marshes and the other animals have learned to (almost) live with them.
The juvenile Night Herons stay just out of reach. I’m not sure what a safe distance really is for a Heron, particularly since I have seen how fast the big guys actually are.

Never dull out there and the colors of fall can be really nice in the marshes. However…I do miss the trees of New England this time of year.
