The Weavers will be gone soon. Until then they continue to grow in size.
At this point any webs that have been around for a time cover a lot of territory.
Most Weavers hang motionless, not this one. It kept moving around…which really creeped me out.
They’re leggy little things, aren’t they?
Leggy, yes… little…
Hahaha good point!
Actually, orb weavers often spin around or whirl for a few reasons including, at least as far as researchers have determined, causing prey to not be able to recognize the spiders or to make the trapped prey move some so they can tell the difference between prey or something the wind has blown onto the web. Or in the case of people who don’t like spiders…to creep them out. 🙂
Makes perfect sense… and still creeps me out. I have blundered through way too many of their traps.
