Standing behind the tall grass I was trying to get a shot of the Pelicans lined up by the reeds.

As I got set the game changed, they were flying over to me.

As long as I stayed behind the grass the Pelican flew over, one or two at a time.

It was still early so there was low light, but no glare on the water either.

Eventually all the flock came to my side and began to fish in the reeds. I must admit, it’s not often flocks of birds come to me.
What a wonderful experience, I just love watching them land. That wing span is so impressive. I have been seeing a few small flocks here and there this month. They must be making a pit stop as they migrate through.
The numbers have been growing here. They stay out in the large marshes so in a few weeks there will be many Pelicans, and no people. Roads/trails close to protect migrations.
That is good for the birds, It is nice to hear they try to protect the birds.
