Alligators don’t say much. But when they do you listen, and pay attention.
It’s a deep rumble and at times everything around them vibrate.
It’s called profiling. Usually it’s a bull and they are calling a mate or starting a territory fight.
It’s not mating season so he was calling attention to himself.
While he is looking at me in the above shot there were at least 5 other Alligator around us. I didn’t take it personal.
If you are a wildlife photographer this is a pretty serious opportunity. Not an everyday occurrence.

Cool pics :)! Good to know you are still live! Bye,Kamila
😂😂, thanks. I keep a proper distance, been doing this for a while 🤣🤣. Besides they are actually careful to keep a distance from me too.
This listener looks so friendly but I would not want to be around him.
These photos made me smile 🙂
😀, the alligator was doing all the talking LOL. Growling, like not a big gator can do. It’s a challenge thing.
Wow, late in the year for bellowing! I was in the Okefenokee this past weekend and didn’t have the privilege of hearing gator talk! William
They do it in these marshes until the temps drop. Most in spring, but now it’s all about territory. This was a half hearted attempt though and while surrounded by other gators none even bothered to answer 😂
