When it’s still dark you have no warning these flocks are about to erupt.

You can’t even see them on the ground.
It’s a loud flurry of wings, then they are off.
I’ll call them ‘shore birds’ since a) it was dark, and b) there were multiple species in the large flocks.
These are amazing captures!!! I am always mesmerized looking at photos like these.

Photographs like this hardly ever turn out to be anything. I took plenty this time and maybe 3-4 were like these. I was pleasantly surprised with them. Thanks 😀😀😀
