A Little Blue Heron completely still, no motion.
The bird is almost, but not quite, full grown. His feathers are still lighter in color and I see a few white ones showing through.
Another give away are the green legs. Adults have darker legs.
I believe this is the young bird who has spent most of his life around this immediate area. A rookery is just down the road where he was likely hatched. A young bird, once pure white, and slowly changing to adult colors has been here for at least a year and a half.
Nice to see he has thrived and grown older. That alone is an accomplishment out there.
