In The Wrong Place, Cormorants

Curiosity got the better of me. While I was shooting down a canal, Great Egrets, I noticed Ellen slowly working her way down a dike.

You don’t sneak down dikes often. In fact just the opposite. Most times you prefer the big locals (Alligators) to know you are coming.

Of course I had to go look. Two, a pair, of Double-crested Cormorants were sitting on the ground. Ellen took advantage and moved around getting different angles. I got this and moved back away so as not to scare them.

Why the wrong place? They really can’t walk. Big feet and stubby legs. These birds are made for swimming.
