The day was dull and dark. When I first arrived at this swamp there was no action at all.

But in short order the Great Blues started to work on their nests and the dull light proved to be better than I had thought.

This Heron was suddenly pushed along by his mate to gather more sticks. We found a good spot and she kept sending him out for more.
