In this case I heard, then saw, this Egret land in the branches overhead. That’s not always the case though.
When I first came to the Lowcountry I was walking around a swamp, and suddenly twigs and branches dropped down on and around me.
It was a Great Egret. A newbie here, it never occurred they would be overhead. Up north they were always on the ground, in water.
So again, a hat is a must.
