A series of random photographs taken as we made our way (we hoped) to a hidden rookery.
In some places, like directly below we had a wide canal with little chance of getting bogged down in the Peat and grasses.
Above was an area getting narrow, low, and filling with wildlife. The Great Egret is the obvious animal, however looking down the water there are also Alligators becoming more common.
The last images were taken as the trees and vegetation closed in. Above it almost looks like the open water ends up ahead. It didn’t but the top and sides covered the small flat bottom boat.
Looking at all my images it was about this time I went back to my main gear, faster shooting and longer lens. It was getting loud and busy. Which was why we were out there in the first place.
