Walking along a marsh dirt road I heard all kinds of wing flapping from behind.
Assuming it was an Egret, maybe Heron, I searched around but nothing.
A little more noise and…
He must have landed as I walked by.
A bit unsettling when he glanced down, and just stared at me.
Nice! The Black Vulture is new to me. Thanks for sharing this.
They are fairly common, at least where there are vultures. They mix with the Turkey Vultures so easy to miss. Oh yeah, they don’t glide in the air as easy as a Turkey Vulture, wings are a bit stubby for their size.
Vultures were something I found surprising when moving to the Lowcountry. Up north you see them circling up high. Here, as common as a sparrow 😂.
Turkey vultures are common where I am. The other day I saw 6 of them circling over the river. Very cool sight.
Black Vulture… I have never seen this bird and learned about it today. It’s a nice looking bird and so different. Very special photographs!!!
Not as ugly as the Turkey Vulture, but not pretty either 🤣🤣. Thanks.
