This is more of an observation than anything else.
Osprey, like most fishing birds, have very specific depth requirements. They are also smart enough to know when the water is right for diving.
When we first spotted this bird earlier I commented on seeing an Osprey move away as we approached. But the guide told us there were none in these waters.
Another half mile or so and here he was perched.
The swamp water was much higher than usual and this Osprey came in from the shore for some easy catches. As the depth recedes he will return to the old area.
