Dragonfly

Dragonfly

On days I follow behind Ellen when she is shooting tiny ‘critters’ I tend to grab an image or two.

None of the shots are close to a Mike Powell or Pete Hillman. But you can ID them (well, someone can).

This time of year they are everywhere in the Lowcountry. So much so the Swallowtailed Kites have made it a summer home now.

  1. Nice job, Ted, capturing these images of a male Blue Dasher and a male Slaty Skimmer. You should try dragonflies more often–they can definitely be habit-forming. 🙂

    1. Slaty Skimmers are really easy to remember, but I get your point, Ted. We all have limited bandwidth, so we mostly choose to concentrate on one area. It is hard to be a generalist when it comes to wildlife photography–the gear and the places you go can be quite different if you are looking for birds rather than dragonflies.
