A series here catching a Pelican flying by low over the water.
Like the other articles I was going a little wide on the shots, trying not to zoom in too close. I didn’t want to miss any of the antics on shore.
This may have been one of the first panning shots I tried during the trip. Suddenly I remembered, I was in a boat, with tide coming in… a moving rocking boat.
On shore you can see an adult pushing a chick to stand. Pelicans are definitely not natural walkers.
After this it was time to crank up the speed and brace my knees on the bulkhead. For the record, a ton of images were blurry. We had about an 8 knot wind.
