It’s A Territory Thing, Great Blue

A Great Blue can spot another, on the far side of a marsh, and decide to chase him away. These are big marshes so plenty of room, for plenty of Herons.

Better yet, how does one choose which other one to chase away!

    1. I agree thatโ€™s a problem. I also fine itโ€™s based on the bird, and locations. Great Blues up north were very skittish and we kept a distance. In the Lowcountry, especially swamps, some will walk right past you. Some of the places we shoot have 20,000 – 30,000 acres of marsh and 10 people during the day. They are more interested in the Alligators than us.

Having been a northern wildlife photographer when I came here I was shocked ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.
