She is a young bird and I believe she was hit by a car.

This day she did very well, and has a stunning portfolio now to prove it LOL.

    1. This was taken at a huge raptor rescue facility, largest in the US. They do great work and have a breeding program for many species.

      I have photographed Sakar falcons flying here. They are the rarest raptor in the world due to middle eastern falconry.

    1. Thanks so much. This center does incredible work, even a full hospital with release to the wild the ultimate goal. You have a local species that is almost identical, slightly larger. The Eurasian Kestrel.

    1. They may be common there, but I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen one where I live, though they may well be more common here than I think.
