American Kestrel taken at the Avian Conservancy Center, Charleston, South Carolina.
She is a young bird and I believe she was hit by a car.
This day she did very well, and has a stunning portfolio now to prove it LOL.

That’s great news.
This was taken at a huge raptor rescue facility, largest in the US. They do great work and have a breeding program for many species.
I have photographed Sakar falcons flying here. They are the rarest raptor in the world due to middle eastern falconry.
These are portraits I could never create. Ted, these are amazing photos and very unique!
Thanks so much. The kestrel is one of my favorites. 🙏🙏
What an amazing bird, Ted! Beautifully photographed, and nice to have a happy ending 🙂
Thanks so much. This center does incredible work, even a full hospital with release to the wild the ultimate goal. You have a local species that is almost identical, slightly larger. The Eurasian Kestrel.
I have seen the Kestral here looking out over the local fields. Always an awesome sight to observe 🙂
Wow. The colors and patterns on this Kestrel are amazing. Nice shots, Ted.
Thank you 😊, They are common but so small you just miss them LOL.
They may be common there, but I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen one where I live, though they may well be more common here than I think.
