The first photograph of this meeting was popular, both here and other on line sites. At the time I wasn’t sure how to complete the images. Let’s just say Bald Eagles have very poor table manners.

These are the balance of the ‘usable’ photographs.

The images were taken just as we left the entrance to a large WMA. Unexpected but there he was on a mission.

I had no doubt he was landing, besides the large talons outstretched he never took his eyes off us.

He did grab his prize, a bit messy too. A possum who met his maker a little earlier.

The reason for his big hurry, Black Vultures were nearby.

He didn’t think it was that important and flew off into a pine.

Bald Eagles are magnificent animals, however they are also not above eating anything they can find.

Bear Island, South Carolina.

    1. Thanks. At the time I was shooting this there were 3 more overhead. My wife said she thought they were chasing an Osprey. We had seen an Osprey diving just past this spot so it makes sense. Eagles steal fish from Osprey all the time.

  1. Ted, these are spectacular moments and photographs! Congratulations on these unique masterful photos of this powerful and beautiful raptor!
