The Spoonbill walked through a rice field the other day doing the typical digging around for small prey.
They like to walk along while turning their beak back and forth through the shallow water. This stirs up anything that may be in front of them.
I’ve seen them go the entire length of a marsh sifting all around.

They work their way through the water very methodically, I love to see them! We don’t see pretty pink ones though, that’d be so nice. Nice photos 🙂
I think everywhere else that has any type of Spoonbill has white ones. Ours are almost white the first summer. Thanks.
It’s an interesting bird and every time I see it on your photos I think that this bird is a little odd looking but at the same time so beautiful!
