I never anticipated this one. I was shooting down and could see that maybe the reflections were going to be good.

Even as I started to process the final photos I didn’t notice.

It didn’t take long though. His dramatic ‘bob and weave’ worked out well keeping the reflections in different spots.


Because it was low tide the Green Heron kept to the edge of the mud working the small fish. Which gave me all kinds of angles and reflections. And of course the eye was hard to miss.

The Basin is incredibly photogenic. Having no people for miles certainly helps.
