A few photographs taken just as the sun was coming over the trees. A short time later and the light right here is blinding.
Since this small Pied-billed Grebe didn’t disappear under the surface I took the first shot of the day. The camera’s back screen showed an image with potential (we all know how inaccurate that can be) so I went looking for something else.
Above is the start of the marsh we were heading into. I was standing on a dirt causeway that connects the patchwork of marshes with a road. I read somewhere this marshland is the size the Washington, DC, city limits. It’s just big.
These Gallinule calmly, and out of character, paddled out the grasses in front of me. I grabbed few more images.
I had been hoping to have Eagles start to hunt right here. There were only a few Terns in the distance so we moved on.
Bear Island, South Carolina.
The sunrise is beautiful.
Some better than others, but all are great 😊
We’ll worth getting up early for!
I agree. Especially since Ellen does the first drive time.
Nice minimalist composition!
Thanks so much. Hope all is well.
