It’s still shore time here, it doesn’t really get cold. This is the one place I really try to find the small birds. The reason is patience is not a requirement.
They are out in the open and you either have a chance at a shot, or not. Besides, when they take to the air it’s a real challenge to catch them.

These are really small, sparrow maybe. They fly fast, but also run like the wind along the sand. Fun little guys

They like to hop on one foot too. The first time I saw this I assumed an injured bird. I have seen whole flocks hop along on a single foot though. Funny critters.
