My initial response to a Roseate Spoonbill coming into the marsh is for a closeup shot. So glad I didn’t try that here.

The fall reeds and grasses made for a great back drop.

Also, the young bird was getting old enough to have the trademark ‘pink’.

Suddenly this Spoonbill changed his mind about the landing spot.

A quick turn and it was off to the far side and open water.
He certainly gave me a few good opportunities though.
Love that pink against the fall grasses!
I have never figured out why certain light, nothing obvious, makes their pink stand out just a little more. Days like that I’m tempted to soften them in post. Thanks.
The spoonbill is such an amazing bird
