At first this Stork popped up from the reeds on my left and took off down the canal.
Luck was with me. He turned and flew back right down the cut and landed in the open.

The dike and thick reeds around here usually have a canal, natural cut, about 20 feet (6 meters) wide. Water flows through here like a stream, with all types of fish, crabs, and even shrimp.

With food like this you never know what is in the reeds around you. This must have been a good spot for the young Stork to come right back to.
