Cormorant Over A Marsh

Cormorant Over A Marsh

The Double-crested Cormorant usually stay out of the marshes until late fall and winter. Anhinga’s have mostly moved on and that might be the reason.

Along rivers and large lakes they are everywhere now.  There are so many now the federal government has agreed to a Cormorant hunting season on the lakes and in the delta. Decreasing fish numbers and fouling of the waters was the given reason.
