I never did see where this Great Blue came into this swamp. Not being ready I didn’t even try for a closer photograph. It’s safer to shoot wide and get entire bird since I had no idea what he wanted to do.

The dark corner of the swamp makes a nice back drop.

The Heron put the breaks on and dropped down, another surprise. This particular corner is where Great Blues gather sticks during full time nesting, not now.

I caught one last shot before direct sun glare blocked everything.
Another image or two would have been nice, however I did get decent wing display which is best on a Great Blue anyway.
Typical wildlife photography, you get what you are offered and hope for the best.
