A favorite place here to experiment with light, color, new styles, whatever.
This early 1800’s Charleston home has been preserved, rather than renovated. Original woodwork, wallpaper, and some furniture is still here. A snap shot in history.

This day furniture was moving around the house so it was a bit cluttered. The house is owned by The Historic Charleston Foundation. While shooting the new site manager explained a first time fund raising event was being held on site. Tricky since everything here is beyond fragile.

Photographs here were created using a Kodachrome 25 film filter.
Aiken-Rhett House, Charleston, South Carolina.
I love this “snapshot in history“. So fascinating to imagine the people who lived in these rooms.
History here is much more than I ever knew. I grew up thinking everything was around Boston or some civil place far far away. Because of the wealth in Charleston history is everywhere. Even pirates 😂😂
Wonderful that you are unearthing so much and sharing it here!
