Dry And Warm, Anhinga

Dry And Warm, Anhinga

Getting both warm and dry in the fading sun. Anhinga are tropical birds ranging from the Lowcountry down through South America. The name, Anhinga, is actually an indigenous  Brazilian word for ‘Snake Bird’.

The winter weather has dipped to cold from the normal chill here, this lady does not appear to like it.

  1. Shared on twitter quoting the snake bird bit. Always enjoy seeing your shots of the amazing anhinga birds. I’ve seen photos from Australia of ‘darter’ which appear very similar to anhinga.
