They arrive, loud and raucous.

The first stop is this Cypress tree. If anything is already there when they arrive, well doesn’t matter to the Ibis. They just mob the tree top.


The arrival is usually end of day. It’s a brief stop, letting any stragglers catch up. In a bit they are gone, heading to the islands at the far side of the swamp. That’s the night time spot.

I missed a second wave of Ibis, they surprised me. This group came the usual route, from the left. As I shot this another group came in from my right.
I thought I had their nightly plan and setup in the ‘right’ spot. Of course you never know what might happen. And it did, but I did catch this group.
How wonderful are these photographs, how great! I have never seen so many Ibises landing on the tree. Amazing!!!
There were many more too 😂. I think they can live most anywhere the weather is warm too.
