I had planted myself in one of the more open spots between the rookery trees and the stick collection.
One corner of the swamp flows right into the woods, it’s dark, and is the go to place for collecting nesting sticks.

Great Blues gathering at the dark corner can pass only a few yards off the swamp bank when goin by.
These were shoot on a return trip with a branch heading to a nest.

Eventually you lose the open shots of the birds since we stand under tall oaks, and the typical Spanish Moss.

Above you can see the Moss creeping into the shot. Spanish Moss is all around and hanging down right where you don’t want it to be. A windy day is worse, it’s flapping and flying in your face… and your shot.
