This was a nice gift, thanks to some of the local gators. I had walked up a dirt road to take a few shots of them. I ended up standing on a ridge just as this Great Blue dropped in.

If you have viewed this web site recently there have been plenty of Ocean and Pelican articles. About 19 miles directly behind this scene is the Bird Key pelican island. The Atlantic Ocean maybe 15 miles from here. This marsh is fed by tides. The Lowcountry is almost sea level, tides move inland for long distances.

I love to photograph a series like this. Enough shots to show the story, and the environment. Of course this big bird as the subject.

In a salt marsh, Donnelley wildlife area, ACE Basin.
I love the story your photos showed.
Thanks. On most posts I try to have some type of story/info. No matter what a plain photo gets old quickly
