I have never had a better opportunity with an Oystercatcher than this. The boat was going with the current and we turned along the edge of the shell bank.
This bird was hunting and very busy.
The first shot is being printed in a large metal format.
Stono River Inlet, South Carolina.
Don’t get to see a lot of Oystercatchers (mainly encounter them in Texas), but always enjoy seeing their bright orange bills.
You can’t miss them 😁. Have you heard them fly by ?? High pitched whistling sound. Great to see then since they only live in healthy waters.
Closest I have ever got to an Oystercatcher was an Oyster Cracker. 😀
Until moving here I would be the same. There are some up north in the summer, but common here.
It is good to hear that you are getting one of these printed. I suspect that you are like me and that most of your shots exist only in a digital format. It is so cool to see them printed–I need to do it more often.
We have printed a large number when we first moved here, before heading south we cleaned house… big time. Since then we only hang metal in the sun room but that’s getting crowded now 😂.
I agree photographers should print more often, it’s a good push to get back out there.
