They can attack, or grab, something so fast you don’t realize it after it’s happened. We see it often here during mating season. Great Egrets and Great Blue Herons nest in the same trees here, at times almost on top of each other. When a real disagreement breaks out the snapping, stabbing, and grasping each other is hard, and over in seconds. It’s not always pretty out there.
