This was like a ‘touch and go’ pilots use to practice landings.
The Heron popped up from the tall grass along the edge of this marsh pond. I didn’t know he was there until he was into the air. But when he turned to land on the spot of brush I thought I was lucky, a few good shots to come..
Well, I didn’t rush but he touched his feet down, turned, and was up and moving again.
I caught a single focused shot.

This is a young Tricolored Heron, probably from this years hatching.
