The big plantations that have been renovated and opened to the public spend enormous amounts of time and money maintaining their gardens. In the 1700’s – 1800’s their original gardens were some of the best and largest in the world.
These little guys love the heat, and good eating, in the Lowcountry. I’m not sure when Armadillos first arrived here, but they are happy to have found their way.
The critter below, in full daylight, wander into a sprawling pristine lawn and dug his way from new side to another.
I didn’t stay to see the fun when his work was discovered.
