When you are not expecting something you can miss it, even if in the open. That’s the case with this Common Gallinule. This was taken mid day, bright sun. I looked right through the scene for a few minutes.

We have plenty of Gallinule but it was too bright and hot for them. Around here it would be in those reeds behind the mud bank.

The shots are too bright for my taste, however the birds huge feet were on display making it at least interesting. His big feet help walk on top of vegetation, and water with some forward momentum.

This guy was hot and wanted some water even with me around.
