Paddles and flat bottom boat are free, just don’t look for the life jackets. In fairness I could probably stand if needed, it’s a swamp. Not that I could imagine standing without being trapped in the Pluff mud or worse.

You will share the water with some locals. I spotted this handsome fellow a few minutes after returning the boat. My guess is he was floating and watching the upright locals going by.

There was a couple out in a boat who would eventually need to push pass the local since he sat right in the open water trail. I admit to waiting here for a bit looking for the ‘sound of squeals’ that I know comes with a surprise encounter. I was disappointed, they must have turned another way.

The Alligator above came over out of curiosity and a little boredom.
People from away just assume this is a park, with fences and other niceties. I can’t begin to tell you some of the things I have seen people do in the past. I’m pretty sure the locals are the more civilized ones.

As the climate changes you can guess which species my money is on.
Do those gators ever rock the boat(s) ? 😏. Very nice, you certainly get a feel for the environment!
😁😁, no boat rocking. They don’t want any interaction with people. Some ignore you, others float away. Not just here, most places. There are incidents, sadly a few more each year. The common theme is people, no common sense. Darwin was a very bright man.
Thanks. Swamps can take on different looks and environments but they are typically beautiful.
That’s good to know. Being the sensible type, I wouldn’t have a problem 😊.
The environment is lovely!
For a fairly lethal creature, my experience is they pretty much want no part of me – glad to hear confirmation this is a standard behavior. Like you said, still smart enough not to go for a Darwin award…although the idiots in Yellowstone walking up to the bison/bears may get the trophy this year.
Natural Selection…
