The ‘pretty one’ of the Heron family. This is an adult with the darker shading.
Taken in a corner of a big open water area limiting my options. Well, more than that, this was the only angle and light I could get without scaring him away.
I grabbed what was offered and backed off leaving the bird to go on about his business.

Completely agree with the pretty one comment – always enjoy their hunting dance.
The only dance I find better is the Reddish Egret. Ballet and modern all thrown together 😂😂
