Parts of this wildlife area were originally old plantation rice fields. There were no big planters homes here this was just big fields worked for rice.

The number, and variety, of wading birds here is amazing. A slow day for photography can happen in the ACE Basin. However it’s still more productive than almost any place I have ever been.

This particular marsh is several miles deep, surrounded by woodlands. You can find wading birds and Alligators alongside any number of forest animals. Small sized, like Armadillos to larger Deer and Boar.
