Bird On A Stick, Anhinga

A bird on a stick is obviously no big deal, unless it’s an Anhinga.

Then it could be fun.

Look at his feet, those are scuba diver flippers not bird feet. This guy is hanging on for dear life.

They do this all the time, they also fall straight down in heap too.

Anhinga are amazing divers and swimmers, they spear prey under water. But sitting in a tree top is not their strong suit.

I have seen them fall more than once. As long as there isn’t an Alligator underneath they do just fine.

BTW, the name Anhinga comes from the Tupi Indians in Brazil, meaning “devil bird” or “evil spirit of the woods.” They also call them a snake bird.

How do you say ‘Klutz’ in Tupi ?
