Friends had expressed an interest in seeing wildlife areas around the basin. We gladly met up of course. The day was more of a drive through than photo shoot, however we did walk more than I had anticipated, some locals were still around for the ‘visitors’ to see.

These areas are for the wildlife, we are the visitors 😊.

A small group of White Pelicans had arrived. Almost all the big white ones migrate here from up north. We do have a few that stay around all year, not many though.

Northern Shoveler’s must have come in the past week. I don’t think we have seen any since last winter.

Of course the Snowy Egret, and a Wood Stork, were out. Our friends live in Charleston so they are familiar birds.

Getting out and showing people the wildlife in a huge natural habitat never gets old.
